Happy New Years!

Post by Harlan » Dec 31st, 2017, 11:43 am

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Years, and I really hope everyone finds more happiness and self-fulfillment in this year than the previous one.

I know that 'resolutions' are looked down upon as insincere, and pointless by some. However, I believe it's a chance to better yourselves and strive towards what you couldn't be, but wanted to be in the previous year. It's a way to gain motivation for the goals you want to achieve, and maybe you'll be apart of that 8% which to stick to it until the end. Anyway, I was just wondering what everyone's New Years resolutions are?

Here are some of mine:
1. Exercise once a day, even just a little
2. Read 10 pages of 3 different educational books per day.
3. Give more time to programming projects besides re:spite/work ones.
4. Conquer and tame the volatility within myself (whatever that means :P).

So yeah let us know what you want to achieve this year!

Also I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has supported us. These past few months have been very fun, and Re:spite has an extremely bright future ahead. So look out! We may just surprise you.

I'm not one for New Year's resolutions, but I suppose I am determined to achieve some goals in 2018:

1. Finish fixing (or hiring people to fix) my run-down house so that I can move into it.
2. Read 10 pages of uneducational drivel per day.
3. Give more time to art projects besides Re:Spite ones.
4. Pixel enough stuff to bring Re:Spite to a legitimately playable state.
5. Redesign Cloudflash.
6. Maybe put some effort into finding employment as an electrician so that I can work in a field that values skill and work ethic, unlike my current workplace, which is more concerned with drama and not hurting anyone's feelings.

Drawing everyday is a good goal. Some years ago, I made a concious effort to improve my art by drawing 1 picture every day for like, a month. I feel like it played a pretty significant role in improving my techniques. Hope you have fun with that. When I was doing that, I tried drawing poses I wouldn't normally draw and made some fan art for some anime/games.

Rollerblading is fun.

Happy new year everyone! Hope you all achieve all the goals you've set up for it!

Here are some of my goals:
- Workout daily, really wanna get into running
- Finish a game project
- Improve in art
- Find another hobby (running preferably!)
- Read more books than in 2017

I've never made a decision to draw everyday, but if I'm motivated I tend to draw everyday until motivation runs dry.. I probably did pixel for a month straight a couple of times, if I'm really inspired with a project I won't have problems doing that, but working on non-project related stuff I tend to lose motivation after like a week. I just can't force myself to draw when my creativity runs out.. Should probably work on figuring out how to keep my motivation going.

Not big on planning for the future, but here's a few goals I guess I've made.

1. Grow a Devin Townsend style dread skullet on my dome.
2. Learn a bit more Japanese.
3. Buy one new acoustic guitar.
4. Buy one Telecaster.
5. Move away from current town/state... or another country would be a nice change of scenery.
